MIPRONS aims at developing the most efficient, powerful and green miniaturized propulsion system, ever. The system, paten filed in 50 countries and already issued in Italy and Japan, adopts water as main propellant that is split into hydrogen and oxygen directly in orbit by an electrolysis process. Hydrogen and Oxygen are introduced into a miniaturized combustion chamber to be ignited and to deliver the thrust. The core of the technology stays in the miniaturization of all the components assuring, at the same time, very high efficiencies and performance. In particular, the innovative combustion chamber assures complete combustion in miniaturized dimensions thanks to the specific inlet/outlet ducts position. In fact, in only 500cc and 600g, MIPRONS delivers up to 5N of thrust, that is orders of magnitudes more than the current state of the art, with the same dimensions and weight. This solution permits to speed up manouvers such as orbit raising, de-orbiting and collision avoidance, with significative effects in terms of satellite security, operativity and profitability.
